New Year Update 2025

Hello 2025! I hope that you have had a joyful and restful holiday season.

With this New Year’s update, I am excited to tell you about my upcoming adventures in 2025!

First up is Sing Sistah Sing!© Tales of Transatlantic Freedom tour in the USA and Canada with Howard Moody, my co-creator, with special guest Newman Taylor Baker on the Washboard. We begin in Falmouth, MA, with a concert at the Falmouth Academy on February 6th. This will be followed by a visit to Dennis, MA, with my beloved mentor Margaret Bossi at the Dennis Union Church for a community workshop, followed by a concert on the 8th of February at 7:30 PM in aid of the Rose Conservatory and a church service on the 9th of February. We are excited to return to Cape Cod with this new show and introduce the community to Tales of Transatlantic Freedom energy! Following our short residency in Dennis, we will be doing a series of workshops at the Rose Conservatory in Brockton, MA. These will be open events, so please visit the website for more information:  https://roseconservatory.com/

Tales of Transatlantic Freedom presents music which has expressed lament and faith, protest and hope, throughout the long movement for emancipation.

I can’t overstate the energy, virtuosity, and emotion of this performance. Andrea Baker, Howard Moody, and Newman Taylor Baker  are world-class musicians who have researched and made this show. They are truly exceptional, and together with Tales, they transcend performance; this is a journey together with those who attend.”

Return to Canada! After our concerts in the US, Tales of Transatlantic Freedom moves on to Canada with a performance at the prestigious Queens University in Ontario on the 15th of February. Howard and I are honoured to be opening the Black History Month Celebrations as part of their concert series of performances.

Next up is my continued collaboration with Florentina Holzinger and Neon Lobster. After Sancta, our most amazing and controversial opera together in 2024, we embark on a new project, to premiere on the 21st of May 2025 in Berlin at the Volksbuehne. This artistic new connection has been invigorating and unexpected. I am excited to see where this new project takes me with this most amazing group of women. Dates and further details to follow on www.singsistahsing.com Watch This Space!

Sancta returns to Staatsoper Stuttgart in the Autumn 2025.

As always, I am grateful to still be creating with such amazing colleagues, and I hope to see you at a performance in 2025!
