Hello 2021! - The Latest News from Sing Sistah Sing!

2020 was quite a year with Covid-19 cancelling all of my live engagements sadly, including my debut in Il Trittico planned for 2021.  I have had a year of video performance and expanding my work on radio; the challenges were new and exciting but incredibly rewarding. 

I am honored to announce that I have become an Ambassador for The Nevis Ensemble, "Scotland's Street Orchestra".  I did my first tour with the orchestra, across the west of Scotland, back in December 2019. We brought classical music to hospitals, homeless shelters, youth clubs, schools and even a busy bowling alley. It was a life changing musical experience, being able to be so close to the audiences and bringing joy in unexpected settings through music was incredibly powerful. 

Even throughout #Lockdown the orchestra has been creating and commissioning new music, we were lucky to have been able to record three new commissions and some old favorites in Glasgow this December. Classics Unwrapped on BBC Radio Scotland, invited me to create a series of six programs highlighting my favourite unsung vocal heroines. This was a wonderful opportunity to bring new artists to radio audiences, it featured singers I admired, had performed with, or were mentored by. Stayed tuned for episodes being featured on the new Radio section of this website.

Finally, 2020 I began a new collaboration with The Big Light, Scotland's first curated podcast hub. I was invited as a guest on two of their most successful podcasts, Talk Media and Double Scotch. Again, a new experience for me, but oh what fun! My home recording studio has really come in handy over the last 10 months and the whole podcast world is one I am really looking forward to diving into! WATCH THIS SPACE! 

I hope that 2021 brings above all HEALTH and happiness and a return to live performance, something I am sure we are all missing!
